Research Director

The Head of Other lines and a board Director of Dipsticks Research Ltd. Over the years, Mark has been involved in some of the most high profile projects in UK media research, many of which have won acclaimed Media Week Awards. Prior to a decade of working in research, he completed a Masters Degree in Marketing with Distinction. Mark has a soft spot for benchmarking, and a deep seeded passion for property renovation.

Penny Browell

Senior Research Manager

Our TV specialist. The only thing Penny loves more than good programming is watching it with her three kids. A previous Research Manager at BBC1, International Researcher for Discovery Channel, and Media Analyst at the EBU. She played a key role in the BBC’s Creative Future project, taking content beyond television and into the online and mobile markets. Penny has a soft spot for filmed qualitative research, as well as her mad Springer Spaniel.

James Dickie

Research Manager

Our project planning expert. James loves a good Gantt chart and keeps a tight rein on project costs. He ditched his Physics research background in favour of helping clients to advance their market position and meet all of their marketing challenges. James works with both classical and complex methodologies to offer effective insight and added value. He has a soft spot for Flash survey tools, and runs record 10k road races.

Andreas Thorslund

Senior Researcher

Our Scandanavian born researcher, Andreas fell in love with the British way of living so much he didn’t want to leave. He previously worked in a logistics role at DHL, and a sales role at General Motors, before transcending his skills to media research. Andreas specialises in large-scale mixed methodology projects, focusing on project planning and management. His love of online qualitative research is only matched by his fondness for coffee.

Ben Mahon

Senior Data Analyst

Our numbers expert, Ben has a passion for statistics. He started off life as a website designer, and loves to let his creative side loose on survey scripting and PowerPoint slides. Ben specialises in complex quota management and the timely execution of fieldwork, dealing with large volumes of numerical data. He has a soft spot for complex analysis, as well as the melodic beats of his favourite dance tracks.

Daniel Jones

Data Analyst

Dan is the most recent addition to the Other lines line-up. As a graduate from Edinburgh University, he holds a Masters Degree with Honours in Business Studies and Accounting. Dan has an inquisitive and analytical mind, with an eye for commercial relevance. He’s involved in operations planning and data manipulation. As well as having a passion for mathematical programming, Dan plays the bass in a Death Metal band.
